Dominica continues to receive assistance from regional and international Governments and agencies as Erika recovery process continues.
On Sunday September 13th, a Venezuelan military vessel landed at the Douglas-Charles airport bringing building materials in the form of petro casa moulds for the construction of 300 houses.
Hillarian Jules is Manager of the Housing Division.
“This is a type of building structure which we have used in Dominica with good reviews and so we are happy that the Government of Venezuela has elected to contirubute some housing units to the people and Government of Dominica. We are very pleased to have received the materials,” he said.
Venezuela’s Ambassador to Dominica, H.E. Hayden Pirela Sanchez spoke with GIS News moments after the aircraft arrived.
“We wish Dominica comes out of this very hard situation very soon. I ask the Dominica people to be strong. Here is a brother country helping you.”
